Terms of Service

The scope of Hosti DDNS, account responsibilities and agreed internal services.

1. Provider and scope

These terms cover the Hosti DDNS service at ddns.hosti.me, operated under the Hosti.me / kai-young.co.uk service identity. The confirmed legal operator and service address are published on the policy pages. Contact technology@kai-young.co.uk for support, complaints or contractual enquiries.

The service is new. External customers receive dynamic DNS only: they control and host the destination service. Internal customers may receive hosting, approved reverse proxy, remote access or technology support only to the extent separately agreed with an engineer. An internal label is not a promise of unlimited support or an automatic remote-access credential.

2. Registration and credentials

You must be at least 18 to create an account and able to agree these terms. Supply an email you control, keep passwords and hostname tokens confidential, and notify us promptly of suspected compromise. Accounts do not grant permission to operate unlawful or prohibited services.

Public registration records acceptance of the current Terms and Acceptable Use Policy. Existing and provisioned customers must be informed of applicable terms; access does not silently replace an existing commercial agreement. Hostnames and quotas are service allocations, not ownership of a registered domain.

3. Service operation

DDNS updates publish a public IP address under the allocated hostname. DNS is publicly queryable. DDNS does not open firewall ports, provide a tunnel, bypass CGNAT, guarantee anonymity or make an unreachable server accessible.

An approved internal reverse proxy terminates visitor HTTPS at the Hosti edge and forwards permitted web traffic to the origin. It does not include a global CDN, content scanning, WAF or DDoS protection. Origin availability, valid certificates, correct application configuration and any agreed hosting responsibilities remain relevant.

Keep an alternative way to reach critical services and your own backups. The public service has no contractual uptime or response-time guarantee unless a separate written agreement expressly provides one. We will take reasonable care when operating the service, investigating faults and communicating significant disruptions.

4. Charges, changes and ending service

Any charge, service scope or ongoing commitment for internal hosting/support must be agreed before it applies. An upgrade request or a portal role change alone does not accept a price or create a paid contract.

We may make proportionate operational changes and will give reasonable notice of material changes where practical. We will not use these terms to impose unexpected retrospective charges. You may stop using the updater and ask us to close your account.

We may suspend or terminate access for material policy breaches, security risks or valid legal requirements. Urgent protective action may precede notice. Enforcement and appeals follow the Misuse and Enforcement Policy. DNS removal can take time and does not remove content stored on another provider.

5. Fair responsibility and complaints

You are responsible for services you operate and for respecting other people’s rights. We are responsible for our own service obligations, including any separately agreed hosting work. Nothing here excludes liability where the law prohibits exclusion, or restricts mandatory consumer or data-protection rights.

These terms do not impose an unlimited indemnity, exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, exclude fraud, or prevent lawful remedies. Any dispute should first be raised through the technology inbox; this does not prevent access to a regulator, court or other lawful remedy.

English law is the proposed governing law, subject to mandatory protections and jurisdiction rights that apply to consumers elsewhere. Where a separate business agreement governs an internal service, that agreement should clearly explain how it relates to these terms.
